Swiss Fresh Water developed a low-cost desalination machine in order to produce drinking water.
The desalination machine produces the drinking water at the location where it is consumed, it is powered by solar energy and the machine can be industrially produced in large–scale.
Swiss Fresh Water had successfully passed through a pilot project in Senegal before applying for a loan of the SECO Start-up Fund. Today, there are 14 machines in operation and 15’000 consumers buy their daily drinking water requirements at one of those installed machines.
The desalination machines are bought or rented by either companies, organizations or municipalities but always serviced by SENOP, the Senegalese project organization established by Swiss Fresh Water.
