Projectdescription

The investors have purchased a state license for utilizing a forestry area of 8600 ha for a period of 20 years. They are in the process of establishing a wood processing factory to produce higher quality lumber from beech and coniferous trees for the Georgian market as well as for the markets of the neighboring countries, applying sustainable forestry.
The utilization of the wood is based on a forest inventory and an utilization plan approved by the Ministry of Environment of Georgia.
The SSF loan enables the investors to establish new state-of-the-art drying kilns.

DEVELOPMENT IMPACT

Creation of 12 permanent positions and 28 seasonal employment opportunities
